This 19th Century watercolor was stained with foxing (brown spots). Careful washing
safely removed the stains and restored the brilliance of the original color.
A color print by Salvador Dali was badly stained in the corners from masking tapes. The tape
residue was removed from the paper and the stains washed away.
A color lithograph by John James Audubon, "Pinnated
Grous" was removed from an old board (antique prints were often glued down to paper boards that have deteriorated over
time). The print was then washed to remove insect residue and other stains.
This antique print was washed to remove the horizontal "burn" stain from
the center of the piece. This stain came from the old wooden shingles that were used to frame the piece for decades.
